OUR STORY

Forged by history and tradition, Little Umbria was proudly founded by Francesco and Leon.

Francesco is a talented chef originally from Andria, Italy. He began his culinary journey at the young age of 14, attending a culinary school in Spoleto, Umbria, where he quickly gained recognition for his skills in the kitchen. For ten years, Francesco served as the Head Chef of a fine dining restaurant in Spoleto, where his signature truffle-based dishes were extremely popular.

In 2019, Francesco moved to Australia where he successfully managed several restaurants in Western Australia before starting his own business, Florence Fine Foods. As a Personal Chef, he uses locally sourced ingredients to create delicious dishes that highlight the flavors of the region. Francesco’s expertise in truffle-based dishes adds a unique touch to Little Umbria.

On the other side of the world was Leon. 

Growing up in Harvey, Western Australia, Leon was surrounded by the town’s unique Italian heritage. The small country paradise is no stranger to fine produce itself, renowned for its sprawling citrus orchards and high-quality dairy.

Despite their two very different upbringings, Leon and Damiano share core values when it comes to dining and fine food. The two were quickly brought together by their inherent value for quality and the authentic Italian experience.

Spotting a gap in the Australian market, the Perth-based company now aptly known as ‘Little Umbria’ was born.
